the next simplest dish after mee goreng but i have no idea how to make and had never attempted any. slightly appalling but that’s gonna change! i settled for RasaMalaysia (again) because it uses fish sauce. any recipe that uses the condiments i have (especially those that will rarely see the light of day) is good by my books (:

super simple. peel the prawns and toss that first into the pan, followed by mushrooms and long beans (basically whatever leftover for the week). add soy sauce, oyster sauce and fish sauce (!) this is the interesting part, make a well with the rice, like digging a whole in the middle of the pan and pour in a beaten egg. let it sit for 30 seconds and then use the rest of the rice to cover it up. stir fry a bit more and serve hot. very yummy i must say or maybe i was just really hungry :P

i’m good for the week because i’ve used up all my fresh foods (except lemon and half an onion). hooray! will be cooking for my parents this weekend *scary*
